This story took place in Coromoro Santander, where there was a man, whose name was Antonio, he had been drinking in his wonderful house with his wife. Then, he was walking through a horrible street at night, when he found a beautiful woman with gorgeous hair and body. Later, he took the decision to follow her and when he arrived to the park, the girl was in front of the church. On the other hand, she had a newborn baby in her arms and he was an ugly girl with fangs, claws and a long tail. Suddenly, she disappeared and Antonio fell in shock, when he came round he had lost his money and the valuable things he had. When he told the history to the whole town, they didn’t believe it, but through the time they discovered that this awful girl was “La Llorona” who always has a newborn baby in her arms.

Once upon a time, a little girl, whose name was Alice, had been playing near to her house river, like many times before, when an ugly and terrorific old lady came out of the water and told her:

“Hi Alice, how are you doing?”- Alice, speechless, she just nodded approval to the lady and this horrible woman talked again: “Alice, don’t be afraid, I had been thinking how beautiful you are, just my old daughter.” Alice, that had been looking the deepest dark eyes of the lady asked: “Is your old daughter as beautiful as me? – The woman answer: “you know what? You are even more beautiful that her and that’s why I am taking you with me”. The woman took Alice into the deepest part of the river and never went out for three days, when Alice’s parents found her, she looked different, she became an old woman the recognized her for the clothes she had worn that day. Alice just lived three more years, and people started to say that the woman Alice saw, took away her youth so, she can live more years and be beautiful forever.

Some day in Baranoa Atlántico in 1993, my grandmother, whose name was Ana, told me a story about a woman who was the most beautiful girl in the town and she lost her baby in strange circumstances. People used to say that she lived like a crazy teenager, in parties, bars, drinking and so on. In a raining night, when she came back home, she did not notice her baby on the bed, the first thought of everyone was that her baby had been stolen, but nobody knew who did that. For that reason, she started to cry and suddenly she died. Since that night, she had appeared in the scary nights in the town and most of the time she appeared to pretty girls that live like she used to live. The people had been saying for many years that this terrorific girl, called the “Llorona”, is looking for her little baby boy every dark night....
